Spring has always presented the greatest opportunity for Tourism Tofino to drive a boost to occupancy levels. This is more true than ever, as Tofino businesses continue to recover from the detrimental events of 2023. We’re happy to share with you these details:

The dates:  This campaign will run from February 19 through May.
The target market: Broadly, and in descending order of priority, BC (focusing on Greater Vancouver and the Lower Mainland), Alberta, and Washington State, aimed at adults ages 30+ with the intent to travel.

The messaging: We’re inspiring the audience to come out of hibernation and awaken in Tofino, mirroring the natural lifecycle of spring in Clayoquot Sound.

30-second video – this will appear as “pre-roll” video on connected TV, including major networks like CTV, Corus/Global, CBC, etc., as well as on some U.S. specialty stations:

 

Additional channels and tactics we are engaging for spring marketing include:

  • Video on Meta (Instagram, Facebook)
  • Single-image posts on Meta (Instagram, Facebook)
  • Videos on TikTok
  • A 10-second close-captioning ad on Corus/Global BC and Alberta, and
  • Banner ads in a variety of sizes that will appear on websites visited by the target audience.

When driving north on Highway 19 by the Snaw-Naw-as Shell station, take a peek at the digital billboard by the traffic lights, as it will also display campaign messaging.
