To help address the continuing challenge of filling job vacancies during peak summer season, we will be running the second annual staff recruitment campaign this February and March. This campaign was successful in 2022, attracting over 11,000 unique page views, with approximately 70% of these users residing in BC and Alberta.
This digital and social media campaign is directed at college and university students, as well as people employed at ski resorts from BC to Quebec, compelling them to apply early for the best staff housing options for short and long-term employment. The messaging, targeted to an age 18-24 audience, will run on Instagram and Facebook plus TikTok, as well as on mobile apps within geo-targeted areas. Ads will be shown to people who have demonstrated, through their online behaviour, a desire for a change of scenery and an affinity for outdoor adventure.
To provide member businesses with the opportunity to directly receive employment inquiries and to leverage a sizeable media buy, we have again made this campaign into a co-operative program. Member businesses operating in Tofino can choose to participate by paying a fee for a business listing on the campaign landing page and a direct link to the ‘jobs’ section of their websites. The fees raised will be used to increase our $41,000 media buy to boost exposure and provide participants with excellent value.
