4VI (formerly known as Tourism Vancouver Island) has launched accessible travel guides in collaboration with Community Destination Marketing Organizations, including Tourism Tofino. After our callout for participation to Tourism Tofino members in late 2021, a photographer, videographer and a model living with a disability visited Tofino and Pacific Rim National Park Reserve to capture content and to assess accessibility of the businesses who opted to participate.
The new Tofino accessible travel guide page features this visit as the “guide”. The page also features a range of things to do that are accessible to visitors, whether by wheelchair or mobility scooter. This page will continue to be a work in progress as we endeavour to add categories and present comprehensive travel information to visitors living with different impairments and/or disabilities.
