A recent unofficial straw poll of 11 resorts, campgrounds and vacation rental companies indicates that if regional travel restrictions are lifted June 15, average occupancy for June is expected to be 65%. For comparison purposes, June 2019 occupancy was 84.1%.
With the continuation of a successful vaccine rollout and reduced restrictions it is also anticipated that July and August occupancy will return to pre-COVID levels of over 90% – a welcome boost for our local businesses who have had a difficult and dismal year so far.
